Mystery Science
As a Product Designer at Discovery Education - Mystery Science I’ve been leading initiatives to improve user engagement and streamline experiences across K-5 educational platforms. From building scalable design systems to conducting continuous user research, my work is driven by a user-centered approach and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
While the specifics of these projects are proprietary, I’d love to walk you through my process & share how these solutions have positively impacted both users & the business.

El Segundo Scene
The El Segundo Scene is a community arts magazine focused on empowering the voices of artists and writers within the Southern California city that I call home. The creators recently reached out to me looking for help with their website.
I took the time to audit the usability of the El Segundo Scene's home page, and proposed some changes to their navigation structure based on my research findings.

Daily UX Writing
Over the course of 14 days, I participated in UXWriting.com's daily UX writing prompts. Put together by Ryan Farrell, the goal of this project venture was to become a better product writer. The prompts given were from real organizations looking for real solutions.

Orion
Orion shares the name with the NASA missions that will eventually take mankind to Mars. Over the course of one week, I worked with a partner to create an exciting and educational tablet-based application for an Adobe Creative Jam.
Orion has everything from space videos to popular science articles, and it alerts you when special events are going on at your local science museum. My aim for this project was to design for the future and create something to inspire the next generation of space explorers.

StudyTogether
StudyTogether is a community building webapp for college-aged students. I approached this User Interface project from the perspective of a User Experience designer. Still keeping my initial research and user goals in mind, I took the time to compile an extensive style guide, adhering closely to a coherent brand mood.
StudyTogether's goal is to help students not only connect with their peers, but also help learners share their work and grow professionally.
